These are the loveliest beeswax votive candles you will find.
Made in the wax glands on the underbellies of 1-3 week old honeybees, beeswax is the foundation of a beehive. Honeybees chew and form beeswax into hexagonal cells which are linked to form comb. The comb is used as a nursery for larval bees, for storing nectar, pollen, and honey, as a communication network and dance-floor for hive-members.
Renewable, non-toxic, and hypo-allergenic, beeswax is considered a healthier and more sustainable alternative to paraffin candles. Beeswax does not require refining, while paraffin, a petroleum byproduct, does.
Beeswax improves air quality by emitting negative ions as it burns, which bind with pollutants in the air. A higher melting point (149* F) allows beeswax candles to burn brighter and with a warmer glow that is reminiscent of sunlight.
Being denser than paraffin, beeswax candles burn longer, too, as well as releasing less smoke. Their soothing honeyed scent and golden color are the icing on the cake.
